Susanna Grannis
Bloodlines of the Slave Trade examines the very different stories of two families linked to two notorious, wealthy slave traders of the 1830s, John Armfield and Isaac Franklin. Our member Susanna Grannis is featured in this film, and has worked to trace back her roots which had previously been largely ignored. She will discuss her experience uncovering this history and meeting a distant relative, Rodney Williams, who is descended from an enslaved woman.
Q&A to follow the screening with light refreshments.
This event is presented in partnership with Kinderhook Memorial Library.
