Please join Rebecca Polmateer from Cornell Cooperative Extension as she discusses how to tell if the foods you are eating are the right ones for your health. She will go over how to read food labels to understand if foods are good choices based on possible health issues. She will review foods that have shown to have beneficial effects for certain health issues and debunk some myths around other foods. A healthy recipe will be available for tasting based around what was discussed. All participants will receive a copy of a healthy cooking cookbook.
Rebecca is currently the Deputy Director for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia and Greene Counties. She has been working with the organization for over 16 years and began her career as a dedicated nutrition educator before moving into a more administrative role. She is a certified Master Food Preserver. She has a master’s in science in Biomedical Anthropology from SUNY Binghamton.
This program is presented in partnership with the North Chatham Free Library.
